What we will do on this route
Cortegada is the island, belonging to the Atlantic Islands National Park, smallest and the one closest to land .
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have charm, but it is the one with the most diversity of flora, in addition to having the largest laurel forest in Europe.
An island located just 200 meters from the port of Carril, the town with the most clam farming parks in all of Europe and famous for its clams and the festival that exalts them.
We will be surrounded by clam farming parks and the people who work in them to grow this precious seafood. We will see its old village, in ruins, but with some of its houses already remodeled and the rest in the remodeling phase.
We will be visiting an island that is located at the mouth of the Ulla River, a navigable river to the A Coruña town of Pontecesures, where it begins the Xacobea Fluvial Maritime Route.
We will also see the group of islets that surround it such as Malveiras and Briñas. Some islets that, although very small, host large groups of seabirds during the migration season.
An island full of legends and secrets and where tranquility and rest are assured the moment we set foot on it.
We will do this route departing from any port in the Ría de Arousa, like all our routes and services.
